Apex Legends may be all the rage in the battle royale sphere right now, but Fortnite is the most popular game in the world, and it hasn’t gone away just yet. Epic Games recently announced that Fortnite breached 10 million concurrent players during the recent Marshmello concert, with 10.7 million players logging in at the same time.
Of course, that was a count boosted by it being for an event, as well as the nature of the event in question. Epic Games also confirmed to Variety that Fortnite hit its record high count of concurrent players last Saturday, with 7.6 million players playing simultaneously (as reminder, Apex Legends’ current high is 1 million). So, you know… Apex Legends clearly hasn’t killed Fortnite, nor is it anywhere close to doing so, given that Fortnite is currently apparently at its most popular. These numbers demonstrate that even without launches on new platforms, or events, Fortnite is enjoying an absurd amount of player engagement.
Fortnite is available on PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
