UK game retailers Game and Gamestation will not stocking any EA games starting March, and that includes Mass Effect 3. Reportedly, they weren’t able to get “the right credit terms” from EA.
If you’re in UK and have pre-ordered the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition from any outlets other than Amazon, Play.com, Zavvi, and ShopTo.net, EA advises you should reorder them from the aforementioned. Gamesindustry.biz reports that GAME and Gamestation have declared that they will not be stocking any EA games after the release of SSX.
Those who have pre-ordered ME3 from either of the two outlets will get a refund, but not as cash, rather as store credit.
An internal email from Game’s North European manager Tom Devine has also confirmed this.
His e-mail also said: “If you have placed a deposit for a pre-order or are uncertain that your existing pre-order will be guaranteed, please contact your local retailer.” If your order is getting cancelled, you will get £5 as Reward Points.
GameSpot reports that upon calling Game’s stores, you are met with a recorded message that asks you to go over to the website of the outlet to get more information on this situation with Mass Effect 3. The website, however, still shows the PS3 edition of ME3’s Collector’s Edition still in stock and up for sale.
Stay tuned to GB, we’ll keep you updated.
