Game Pass July Update Adds Play Later Feature And Expanded Alexa Support

The service continues to evolve.

It seems that the Game Pass program is going to be a big focus for Microsoft going forward, and right now it brings quite the value to players. There’s some debate about how good that actually is for developers and publishers as whole, but as it stands Microsoft is going full steam ahead with it, and now we have the July update which adds some nice quality of life features.

As announced by Major Nelson, the July Xbox update will include a handy play later option for the Game Pass service. It will allow you to bookmark games in a wishlist style, getting its own separate tab for you to revisit when you’re ready.

The other major feature is that the service’s compatibility with Alexa voice command has been extended to some more regions. Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Spain will now have Alexa support. Along with that, you can now use Alexa to get a quick rundown on what’s new on the service by asking, “Alexa, ask Xbox what’s new on Game Pass?” You can even get a quick lowdown on what your friends are doing now with a similar question. Here’s a full list of what you can ask with Alexa.

The Game Pass service is available on Xbox One and PC, with the July update rolling out today.
