Gears of War Series Will Get the “Master Chief Collection” Treatment – Rumor

XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker believes the collection will be announced at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12th.

With Starfield and Redfall being delayed to 2023, the question of Microsoft’s other releases for the year comes to the forefront. XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker, who reported in January about another Xbox franchise getting the “Halo: The Master Chief Collection treatment”, has seemingly revealed that franchise in question: Gears of War.

Though not specifying it out loud, Baker said on The XboxEra Podcast to look at Microsoft’s output from November 2021 to November 2022 (which was essentially Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5). The only series missing is Gears of War, a callback to when Xbox was considered to only have these three major first-party franchises. Baker is “of the belief” that this remastered collection will be announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12th.

Of course, whether it launches by November 2022 or not remains to be seen (along with the games it will include). Xbox marketing GM Aaron Greenberg has said that The Coalition is working on “several unannounced projects” so this could be one of them. As always, stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
