Gears of War: Tactics Footage Emerges – Cancelled RTS Featured Kinect Use

Oh Epic.

VGLeaks has uncovered a two minute gameplay video for Gears of War: Tactics, a real time strategy off-shoot of the franchise which used Kinect gestures for giving commands.

In the gameplay video, one can their finger to essentially draw out places where troops should attack. Airstrikes can also be called in and honestly, we’re a bit amazed that more of this wasn’t heard of till now where the franchise now resides with Microsoft.

Gears of War: Tactics emerged in 2013 through some leaked screenshots and it was originally in development for the Xbox 360. Epic Games had been working on another title in the series that used Kinect called Gears of War: Exile but that was confirmed to be cancelled in 2012.

Currently, Black Tusk Studios is working on a new Gears of War game for the Xbox One. It is expected in a good few years now but we’re excited. What are your thoughts on Gears of War: Tactics? Let us know in the comments.
