Ghost Recon Breakpoint Releases on October 4th, Alpha Gameplay Revealed

The Ghosts travel to Auroa to battle a new threat and heaps of drones.

It’s official – Ubisoft Paris is working on the next title in the Ghost Recon series, as was previously leaked. As a sequel to Ghost Recon Wildlands, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint sees the Ghosts battling the Wolves, a unit led by former Ghost Team leader Cole D. Walker. The game is out on October 4th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Check out the announcement trailer and alpha gameplay below.

Like its predecessor, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is open world and playable either solo or in co-op with up to four players. You’ll head to a new island called Auroa, which houses Skell Technology, a company known for creating drones. Unfortunately, the Wolves have gotten a hold of that tech, and it’s a fight for survival as the Ghosts crash-land on Auroa. The island plays host to a variety of biomes, like beaches, jungles, deserts, fjords, and even a volcano. You’ll have a fair bit of snowy mountains to surmount as well.

Some new challenges include steep slopes, injuries that accumulate, and fatigue, lending even more of a survival twist to the game. You’ll have complete freedom in how to pursue missions and make use of new tactics. You can carry both teammates’ and enemies’ bodies, concealing the latter from sight. Blending in with one’s surroundings via prone camo, setting up camp to take care of your equipment, and four classes with the ability to switch between them are some other new features.

Stay tuned for more details on the game, especially with regards to its post-launch content plan.
