As the gaming world gets ever more impatient when it comes to finding out when Rockstar is going to be launching some story-based DLC, there are rumors that the company actually showed off some footage behind closed doors at Gamescom. What we do know is that Rockstar was actually attending Gamescom but we don’t know exactly what the firm was doing there. However a Youtuber took a picture of the company’s logo on the wall during Gamescom.
The interesting aspect is that the logo was in the business area, rather than the public viewing area. That of course means that the company wasn’t showing anything off but there. The company also isn’t talking about why they were there so all we have to go on is playing the guessing game. That game could actually lead down another road entirely thanks to a trail of breadcrumbs being left by the firm.
Not that long ago, Rockstar renewed a patent on a game called Agent. This is the third time the firm has renewed the patent, which seems to imply that at some point they really want to bring it to market. The game was announced in 2009 as was billed as a game that will take players into “the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations.” To some degree, that sounds an awful lot like Assassin’s Creed and one has to wonder if that’s why it hasn’t come out, six years after it was first announced. Back in 2011, the game was confirmed as still being in development by Take Two. Is Rockstar finally showing somebody footage? None of these questions were answered but at least it added yet another interesting twist to Gamescom.
Just so other YouTubers know. This is real at gamescom but it's in the business area. Not the public viewing area. pic.twitter.com/SN5fG2XYDb
