Grand Theft Auto Online Revealed: 16 Player Support, Free with Grand Theft Auto 5

Cooperate and create chaos. Bring friends.

Rockstar Games has revealed Grand Theft Auto Online, a persistent world for up to 16 players that will feature the mechanics of Grand Theft Auto 5 but online. Check out the trailer for the same above.

The world of Los Santos will continue to expand, with Rockstar promising new content (though the GTA community will also take part). You’ll be able to explore by yourself or work together with friends for various activities. You can form Crews and rob banks or commit various other crimes, take part in different events like cliff-jumping and parachuting or just play tennis.

Much like in the main game, you can customize your character’s appearance and earn reputation and cash to rise through the ranks. Purchase property, upgrade your stats, customize vehicles, and much more await you in GTA Online. The best part? It will be available for free with Grand Theft Auto V, although it will be launching in October.

Grand Theft Auto V is scheduled to release on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PS3 worldwide.
