Spiders is working hard to distinguish GreedFall, its next big RPG, from its previous efforts. Taking place in a setting inspired by the 17th century, it sees players traveling to a mysterious island seeking cure for a plague. In the first episode of a new webseries, the development team talks about the ideas behind the world and what inspired its design. Check out “Terra Incognita” below.
Along with giving the island of Teer Fradee its own character, Spiders wanted to utilize 17th century art, music, and architecture as references for the overall style. Teer Fradee is teeming with different settlements and secrets – this reinforces the game’s focus on exploration and discover. Don’t worry though – you’ll find plenty of fantasy in the island as well.
