Grand Theft Auto’s inception began on the PC, and it’s something that has really irked me how Rockstar treats the platform compared to the consoles when it comes to their big games. GTA 5 was not announced for the PC, however, it will be releasing on the consoles in Spring 2013.
This is not something new, though, considering San Andreas had a 6 month delay, and GTA 4 had a larger delay. Games like Red Dead Redemption didn’t even appear on the PC and one has to think why Rockstar is doing this.
I know petitions do not work mostly but there’s a current GTA 5 PC petition going on with 40,000 signatures, now will that translate into 40,000 sales is something Rockstar has to decide.
“Please release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many peoples lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform,” the petition read.
“Things like modifications have always been a huge part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have. I hope you consider the release of GTA V on PC as it’ll make many people very happy.”
Rockstar will not budge though, they didn’t bring RDR to PC after all, and they are very careful about their business models.
Thanks, VG247.
