GTA 5: Why The Recent Release Date Rumor Is Fake

Don't fall for it people.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is supposed to be released on March 2013, according to plenty of news sources, who are reporting placeholder dates from Amazon and other sources. The thing to note here is that these online retailers will not reveal the official date unless they are given go ahead by the publisher.

Sometimes, the publisher never reveals the official date so there’s no point of the retailers knowing the dates, so what they put is the placeholder date they think the game could be released on. It’s not real, so reporting that is pretty weird. We have also reported Amazon dates sometimes, but things go out of hand when people start talking about Microsoft Store dates as the real thing.

Fan anticipation for the game is at an all time high because the game is from a prestigious franchise that a lot of people love.

Let’s put a rumour to rest that the game could be launched on March 2013. It simply isn’t going to happen because Take-Two the company that owns Rockstar Games also owns Irrational Games, and Bioshock Infinite, a game that they are going to be publishing in March.

Logic indicates they aren’t going to release both games in close proximity of each other especially considering Bioshock Infinite is a well know IP, and GTA 5 could cannibalize its sales.
