GTA Online Goes Free For Limited Time

The online service will be free to play until August 6th in celebration of After Hours' launch.

Grand Theft Auto Online’s latest substantial update After Hours recently went live. To celebrate its release, Rockstar has announced that the online service will be free until August 6th. PlayStation 4 owners won’t even need PlayStation Plus to access the multiplayer.

Though it’s for a limited time only, this free period will seemingly include content from past updates as well. So if you’re interested in building criminal corporation, trafficking guns and other morally questionable substances, or want to partake in Heists, then this is a good time to try out GTA Online.

After Hours itself provides a substantial amount of content for current players. Along with new vehicles and drones, it also allows players to manage their own nightclub. Once the nightclub is actually acquired and named, there’s a whole string of missions to set it up from hiring employees to finding a DJ.

There’s an ample amount of cutscenes, and even Gay Tony from Grand Theft Auto 4’s The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC makes an appearance as your partner. What are your thoughts on the update? Let us know in the comments.
