Halo Infinite Has Meme-Referencing Gear and Cosmetics, According to Dataminer

Halo Infinite's offerings of cosmetic options have a number of meme references, as pointed out by a dataminer.

Halo Infinite releases in just a couple of months, and fans have been having a lot of fun getting to experience parts of the game through the latest technical preview. In addition to the super punch glitch ruckus, a dataminer has uncovered crucial information about the game’s cosmetic items, such as Emblems and Armour FX.

As posted on the HaloLeaks Discord channel and pointed out by a member of the HaloLeaks subreddit, many emblems in the game are referencing popular internet memes. One emblem is a callback to the “this is fine” meme. One is a Minecraft-esque representation of a Spartan, and several others are based on similarly popular memes. In addition to this, there’s also themed Helmets, with one particular variant being on fire, with the other having spikes on top.

Halo Infinite has a lot riding on it, having the most protracted and stretched-out development cycle of any game in the franchise so far. Of course, 343 Industries knows its strengths – and Halo Infinite could easily be one of the biggest games the year has to offer, if things go right.
