Following the release of 343 Industries’ Halo Infinite, lead narrative designer Aaron Linde announced on New Year’s Eve via Twitter that he had left the studio. Though noting it to be a “terrifically difficult decision” with the shooter remaining “one of the proudest achievements of my career for the rest of my life,” Linde confirmed he was pursuing a new opportunity this year.
In a recent tweet with footage from the popular anime Evangelion, he’s since confirmed to be joining Riot Games. In what capacity – and on which title – remains to be seen, though. Recently, Valorant’s previous game director Joe Ziegler announced that he was moving to a new project with Andy Ho taking his place.
Riot Games also made news recently for reaching $100 million settlement in its class-action gender discrimination lawsuit that began in 2018. The company also agreed to a third party monitoring its internal reports and pay equity processes for the next three years in order to “drive ongoing transparency and accountability.” We’ll have to wait and see if any improvement comes from it though.
