Halo Infinite Might Bring Back Maps from Older Games, Developer Seems to Tease

343 Industries' head of creative Joseph Staten seems to be teasing the addition of classic Halo multiplayer maps in Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite saw the launch of the second season of its multiplayer component last week, but it hasn’t exactly gone to plan. That, combined with the criticism the game has been receiving since launch for the slow pace of its updates (which is likely to continue, judging by its roadmap) hasn’t exactly done wonders for the game where public perception is concerned.

But it would seems 343 Industries possibly has some stuff cooking up that would surely get a solid chunk of players on board in a heartbeat. Speaking recently to Kinda Funny, 343 Industries’ head of creative seemed to suggest that Halo Infinite could add maps from older Halo games in the future. When asked about whether that was a possibility, Staten slyly smiled, saying that it was a good idea, before adding:

“I can’t talk about some things, but I can talk about others. There are some great Halo maps. I think we all have our personal favourite- Guardian, [Blood] Gulch, The Pit. There are a lot of maps that are awesome. I think it’d be awesome to play on those maps again, don’t you guys? That sounds like a fun thing.”

With Season 2, which is now live, Halo Infinite added two new maps to its current collection, but bolstering that number with classic maps from older titles would be a great way to keep fans satisfied in terms of content- and of course, it would also tickle the nostalgia bone perfectly.

Whether or not happens anytime soon (or at all) remains to be seen, but it’s surely something fans will want to see. For now, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.
