Halo Infinite Season 3: Echoes Within is live on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. It brings three new maps, modes like Escalation Slayer, new Battle Pass, balance changes and a new weapon, the M392 Bandit. Interestingly, raytraced sun shadows are also available on PC.
Requiring a GeForce RTX 20 series or later, or an AMD Radeon RX 6000 series or later, along with DirectX Raytracing Tier 1.1 support, the feature allows more realistic shadows cast by the sun in multiplayer. There are only two options – Off or High – and it’s not supported in the campaign. 343 Industries has confirmed that Xbox Series X players will receive the option in a future update.
However, it’s unknown whether ray traced reflections or other features are coming in the future. We’ll need to wait for more details, so stay tuned. In the meantime, head here for more on Season 3’s Battle Pass and free content.
