Halo Infinite Update Coming March 19th, Overhauls Networking, Adds Easy Anti-Cheat

Squad Battle also gets a refresh with seven new maps created in Forge Mode, with two recreated from Halo 4 and Halo: Combat Evolved.

343 Industries has announced a new update is coming to Halo Infinite on March 19th. It brings the much-awaited networking overhaul, which should fix issues like desync and players being shot around corners.

It also adds Easy Anti-Cheat, which should help in the developer’s efforts to deal with cheating. “With the March Update, our detection and enforcement capabilities will be enhanced, greatly improving the game’s overall security and our ability to respond to cheaters.” Players are still encouraged to report any cheaters encountered, though.

If that weren’t enough, Squad Battle will receive a refresh, adding seven new maps developed by fans using Forge Mode. They include maps like Perdition from Halo 4 and Timberland from Halo: Combat Evolved on PC. The other maps – Refuge, Rendezvous, Gyre, Harvest and Behemoth – are brand new.

The developer will provide more details soon in a dedicated blog, so stay tuned. Halo Infinite is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. It previously followed a seasonal approach, but 343 Industries has since moved towards Operations. Head here for more details.
