The launch trailer for 343 Industries’ next major update for Halo Infinite, Season 5: Reckoning, went live yesterday and featured some great content. Two new multiplayer maps, the return of Extraction, Flood cosmetics, Firefight King of the Hill and more coming later in the season – there’s a lot to look forward to. Unfortunately, the season also marks some changes to the Battle Pass model.
Essentially, the free tiers of the Battle Pass have shifted to the first 20 ranks. Unlocking them will take less time, which is good. The bad news is that once the new Operation (which replaces the “Events” that we’ve come to know) starts on November 14th, the free tiers will be unavailable. So if you haven’t completed them by then, forget about earning their rewards…unless you buy the Premium Battle Pass.
The Premium Battle Pass still won’t expire and can be completed at any time, with an additional 30 tiers of rewards to unlock on top. However, this means you can’t just start the season after the first month and claim the free tiers. At least you can earn 1,000 Credits from the Premium Pass, which can purchase future passes.
Halo Infinite Season 5: Reckoning starts on October 17th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
