343 Industries community director Brian Jarrard has some good news for Halo fans waiting for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC. “Flights”, or beta tests as they’re referred to, could begin later this month. Jarrard further confirmed that this is indeed “no joke”.
The first flight for Halo: Reach could also begin this month, but Jarrard is still unsure whether the beta test will begin first for Xbox One or PC. Halo: The Master Chief Collection consists of four titles currently, with each releasing as betas for PC. Halo: Reach will be the first, and all titles should be on PC before the year ends.
Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 will also receive their respective flights. This will ensure that each is properly tested for issues before becoming publicly available. Each title can be purchased standalone on PC, but if you registered with Halo Insider, you could gain access to the flights at no cost. Stay tuned for more information on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which will be available for both Windows 7 and Windows 10 users, through the Microsoft Store and Steam.
