Halo Wars 2 Blitz Mode Gets New Details

The mode is a combination of tactical strategy and card based combat.

While Halo Wars 2 is still a ways off, we’ve gotten some new information on what the game is going to entail. Last month, 343’s chief had teased the public with the announcement that the game would have a “completely new way to play.”

The new Blitz Mode is likely what 343 was talking about. In a new video, members from the development team talk about a couple of modes that are going to be included in the game such as Deathmatch and Dominion as well as Blitz Mode. Deathmatch and Dominion are quite like other modes you’ve seen in other games.

Blitz on the other hand is more of a “hybrid card-collecting” that has aspects of real-time strategy mixed in. Cards are earned by playing the campaign and daily challenges and they are used in decks of 12 by the designated “leaders” in the game. You can check out more about this mode in the video below. Halo Wars 2 is launching on the Xbox One and PC on February 21, 2017.
