Halo Wars 2 Will Have “Completely New Way” to Play

343 Industries teased some new details about Halo Wars 2 at PAX West along with debuting some new footage of the same.

The first mission of the campaign was showcased, which sees the UNSC emerging from cryosleep and dealing with the fallout of Halo 5: Guardians. Interestingly, studio head Dan Ayoub told DualShockers that there would be a new mode that offers a new way to play the RTS.

“One of the modes, which I can only tease for the time being, is actually a completely new way to play a RTS. It really takes standard RTS gameplay and turns it on its head. And that’s a mode that can be played in a shorter time frame as well, like five, six, seven minutes.”

Halo Wars 2 will release on February 21st 2017 for Xbox One and Windows 10 with another beta to arrive prior to that. What are your thoughts on what the new mode could be? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
