Blackbird Interactive’s Hardspace: Shipbreaker is currently planned to release in Steam Early Access this Summer for PC. However, the developer along with publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced console versions to be in development. Check out the trailer below for a better idea of what the game has to offer.
Players control a Shipbreaker who works with LYNX, exploring large ships and using tools to extract some valuable salvage in order to pay off an exorbitant debt. You’ll need to create entry points, find valuable materials and slice them up.
As you progress, it will be possible to upgrade your tools and suit for higher paying contracts. Boasting “next-generation physics simulation”, Hardspace: Shipbreaker presents an interesting twist to the space sandbox genre. It may not be up to everyone’s speed but don’t worry. Blackbird Interactive is still working on space RTS Homeworld 3 (which has yet to receive any new details since being announced last year). Stay tuned in the meantime.
