Micosoft’s Games With Gold for Xbox Live has consistently lagged behind Sony’s PlayStation Plus Instant Games Collection, which has had superior offerings; however, Microsoft revamped the program a couple of months ago, and this month’s offering is certainly better than Games With Gold has been in the past.
For the Xbox One, Microsoft will be offering Strike Suit Zero and Crimson Dragon all through August; Xbox 360 owners, meanwhile, get access to MotoCross Madness, but perhaps most importantly, Arkane and Bethesda’s excellent 2012 stealth action adventure game, Dishonored.
Once you get these games, you get to keep them forever so long as you are subscribed to Xbox Live Gold.
Microsoft has certainly kicked its offering up a few gears in the last few months, one of those instances where competition had a demonstrable positive impact. Let’s hope Sony’s offering for PS+ this month is good as well. Sony has certainly acted coy about it, calling it ‘an eclectic bunch.’
