Here Is Why Project Nebula Will Not Release On Xbox One: Releasing On PS4 Feels ‘Natural’

A new HOME for PS4 players.

UK based Kovok studios are working on Project Nebula, a 3D interactive world where players can use custom avatars to socialize and play games together. The game went through crowdfunding via a Kickstarter campaign but unfortunately the campaign got canceled. However the game is still under development via the company’s savings and private investments.

Along with Windows and MAC platforms, the game will be a console exclusive to the PlayStation 4. This has apparently led many fans to term Project Nebula as a spiritual successor to PlayStation Home for the PS4. But the lack of an Xbox One version is rather surprising since Microsoft’s platform does have a solid community of its own.

An executive from Kovok revealed the decision behind going console exclusive with PS4 to GamingBolt.”We were PSHome developers and all our fans are PS3 owners. Releasing the game on PS4 is what feels more natural for us and it’s what our fans wanted.”

Given that Kovok are pushing Project Nebula as the new PlayStation HOME for the PS4, did Sony had any issues when they certified it for the PlayStation 4? Apparently no.

“Project Nebula will only share the social side of PSHome. The world has a solid background, rather than being only a chat room with 3D avatars. For Sony it works like any other game, they are not against it.”

Project Nebula currently does not have a release date but you can get a taste of what to expect from it in the video above.
