Evolve as a concept has me sold. The idea of asymmetric gameplay has long appealed to me, and Evolve seems t be a great implementation of it, while also seeming to be a great evolution of hit multiplayer games from last generation such as Left 4 Dead. It’s basically the kind of thing that I wish Nintendo had done with the Wii U, since the platform seems to be perfect for it.
All of that aside, Evolve is, after all, a modern AAA game, which means that it will try to sell itself to you on the basis of a story, a premise. And to show off said story, we just got a brand new story trailer for the game, which looks pretty intense, and as stories go, pretty standard fare as far as AAA game releases go these days.
Nah, I wish they would instead go back to showing us more of the gameplay. It’s pretty clear that the gameplay is where the game, in fact, shines.
