Hitman 3 Debuts on Top of UK Retail Charts With Higher Sales Than Predecessor

It narrowly beats out Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Hitman 3 has had solid start in pretty much every way imaginable. On top of near-universal acclaim, it has enjoyed the strongest digital launch in series history, and now, it has topped the weekly UK retail sales charts (via GamesIndustry). It sold 17% more than Hitman 2 did at launch in 2018. 49% of its sales were on the PS5, 25% on PS4, and 27% on Xbox.

It just narrowly beats Animal Crossing: New Horizons to the top spot, with less than a thousand units sold separating the two games. Fellow Switch megaton Mario Kart 8 Deluxe follows in third place. Impressively enough, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales saw a massive 161% week-on-week increase in sales, taking fourth place, and is one of several PS5 games to have enjoyed similar increases, thanks to a restock for the console in UK retail last week.

The rest of the top 10 sees a lot of familiar places hovering around the charts, including the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Grand THeft Auto 5, Ring Fit Adventure, FIFA 21, and more.
