Hitman 3 – IO Interactive Looking Ahead to Sequel, May Take Episodic Approach

IO Interactive is also working on a secret new IP.

IO Interactive continues to deliver new content to Hitman 2 but it’s also looking ahead to a sequel. That’s right – the studio is currently planning for Hitman 3 as revealed in NoClip’s documentary “The Fall and Rise of Hitman“. Studio CEO and co-owner Hakan Abrak also noted that the team may go back to an episodic approach, much like Hitman (2016).

If that wasn’t enough, the rest of the Copenhagen team is working on “something secret”. It’s also something new, which should be interesting. After all, the last non-Hitman title that IO Interactive released was Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days in 2010.

As for Hitman 2, its first paid expansion released last month, introducing new sandbox location, new missions, new challenges and more. July has also seen a bevy of content including a new challenge pack, Legacy Elusive Target, Escalation Contracts, and more. How could Hitman 3 possibly up the ante (if and when it ever releases)? Hopefully, we’ll find out in the near future.
