Hitman Now “Truly Episodic”, Will Have “Regular Monthly Content Updates”

Prologue mission out in March, followed by Paris setting in April.

IO Interactive’s Hitman is now taking a completely episodic approach. What does this mean? After clarifying that Hitman would be a full game at launch, the developer is now opting to release content on a monthly basis. The prologue and starting mission will release with the game in March (along with Contracts and live events) followed by the Paris mission in April, Morocco in May and so on. There will also be “regular monthly content updates” till year end which will offer new areas and other events to experience.

Studio boss Hannes Seifert stated that, “We decided to take the full leap and publish Hitman as a truly episodic game experience. Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a Hitman game. But the main driving reason is that this will allow us to create a living game that will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future–this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future Hitman games.”

It should be noted that the full digital game will still cost $60 while the Intro Pack, containing the Prologue and Paris mission, will be out for $15. Each new location will set you back by $10 each or you can simply update your game with everything for an additional $50. Hitman is out on March 11th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
