Hitman Runs At 1080p on Xbox One, Both Versions Allow For Locked FPS Option

Corroborates what IO Interactive had suggested to GamingBolt in an exclusive interview.

Hitman‘s Xbox One version has been bit of an elusive enigma– we haven’t had any chance to see it yet. The footage so far has all been from the PS4 or PC versions, the discussion has all focused on those two versions, and even the beta skipped being on the Xbox One at all.

But now, ahead of Hitman‘s launch tomorrow, we can confirm to you that the game’s Xbox One version appears to be on par with its PS4 counterpart, at least as far as resolution goes. GamingBolt has run preliminary analyses on the Xbox One version of the game, and we can confirm that, like the PS4 version, it runs at 1080p.

This corroborates what IO Interactive’s Christian Elverdam told us in an exclusive interview yesterday. When we asked him if the Xbox One version also runs at 1080p, he said, “I think it does, I think it does, but I would need to check with the tech guys.”

Furthermore, we can also confirm that the game allows for locked as well as unlocked frame rate options. One of our complaints from the beta was that the game felt like it was running at an unlocked frame rate. In the final game, it seems that IO Interactive have gone ahead and added a frame rate option that will allow you to either lock the game at 30fps or run it unlocked up to 60fps.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt for a full technical analysis of Hitman on PS4, Xbox One and PC tomorrow.
