To say that Hogwarts Legacy has been one of the biggest games of the year would be a bit of an understatement. Within two weeks of launch, the open world action RPG had already sold over 12 million copies worldwide, and its sales have significantly surpassed even WB Games’ internal projections. And interestingly enough, it seems developer Avalanche Software may already be at work on what comes next.
That’s as per a job listing recently published on the Warner Bros. Discover website for the position of software engineer at Avalanche Software, with the listing mentioning that the studio is currently “working on an unannounced AAA console title.” The job ad has now been edited to remove that section, though you can check out screenshot of the original below (courtesy of Game Rant).
Hogwarts Legacy is not even three months old yet, so it’s obviously a bit early to start looking ahead to a potential sequel, though given the level of success it has seen, it wouldn’t be surprising to see WB Games and Avalanche Software fast-tracking their plans for a follow-up to the action RPG. Of course, fans will also be hoping that Hogwarts Legacy itself gets DLC support, though it remains to be seen whether or not that’s part of the developer’s plans.
Hogwarts Legacy is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It launches for PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow, on May 5, and for Nintendo Switch on July 25.
