Hogwarts Legacy Doesn’t Have Microtransactions

The open world action RPG is currently slated to release in Holiday 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Hogwarts Legacy has been receiving a hefty amount of information since the recent PlayStation State of Play. Along with the first gameplay reveal and behind-the-scenes video with the developer, WB Games Avalanche also revealed the main antagonist(s). It also confirmed that this is a single-player action RPG, though NPC companions could help at times.

That being said, given that this is a triple-A title, the question of microtransactions comes up. Community manager Chandler Wood has since clarified on Twitter that, “There are no microtransactions in Hogwarts Legacy.” Of course, it wouldn’t be strange to see some new content added via DLC. Time will tell if that’s the case though.

Hogwarts Legacy is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch (as per the official FAQ) in holiday 2022. Along with locales that series fans are familiar with, it will also feature unseen areas like the common rooms for Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Multiple difficulty options are also included to cater to both the story and challenge-minded.
