After so many years of being stuck in limbo and perennial development hell, having been carted from one developer and publisher to another, it looks like Homefront: The Revolution is now finally going to be a thing; the sequel to THQ’s troubled 2011 hit shooter seems like it might actually realize the promise of the original game, with its open world design, and its emphasis on guerrilla warfare.
Of course, until now, this had all been empty words for us, simply because we had never actually seen the game itself in action- we got a cool trailer yesterday, true, but it was still pre-rendered footage. Actual gameplay? Not so far, at the very least.
That changed today, as publisher Deep Silver released a six minute long video that showcases gameplay from the game. It looks pretty cool, though of course, time will tell if Homefront will actually ever meet its promise, or if it will always be identified by never quite reaching its potential.
