Horizon Forbidden West – Patch 1.21 Adds Support for Burning Shores, New Accessibility Features

Auto Camera, Auto-Pickup, Thalassophobia Mode, and more options are now available ahead of the expansion's launch tomorrow.

Guerrilla Games’ latest patch is available for Horizon Forbidden West and adds support for Burning Shores, which launches tomorrow. As with the expansion, the patch is exclusive to PS5 players. However, the base game is also getting new features, specifically additional accessibility options.

Players can enlarge subtitles, adjust color blindness settings, and enable Auto Camera. There’s also an Auto-Pickup option, which means you no longer have to manually pick up everything, and a Navigation Assist in Focus Mode. A Thalassophobia mode has also been added for those who can’t deal with deep bodies of water (which is important in the base game and expansion).

Burning Shores is about 16.7 GB on PS5, and pre-loads are currently available (though Guerrilla is investigating issues with the same). Stay tuned for more details when the expansion goes live tomorrow. In the meantime, check out our feature for what to expect going in and a new behind-the-scenes video about Seyka, one of the new characters.
