Another PlayStation-published title gets off to a less-than-stellar start on PC, with LEGO Horizon Adventures seeing shockingly low numbers on Steam.
Studio Gobo and Guerrilla's action-adventure title reimagines and abridges Horizon Zero Dawn through the lens of a LEGO game.
The action-adventure title offers Fidelity and Performance modes with no dedicated "Pro" mode in sight before its launch.
LEGOfying Horizon Zero Dawn has worked out better than most would have expected.
The entirety of the game was built with actual virtual LEGO bricks, piece by piece, according to its developers.
Aloy and the gang sing Chumbawamba's "Tubthumper" while battling a Thunderjaw, reflecting the tone of the upcoming action adventure.
Out now for $49.99 ($9.99 for owners of the original), the remaster offers heavily revamped visuals and new accessibility features.
The remaster launches on October 31st, 8 AM PDT, for PS5 and PC. It offers improved textures and lighting, extensive foliage, and more.
"As a studio, we needed to refresh the palette. It was, by choice, the opposite of Killzone," says the studio's art director, Roy Postma.
Reddick – who played Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West – passed away last year at age 60 due to natural causes.
The LEGO adaptation of Horizon Zero Dawn launches on November 14th for PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch with local and online co-op.
Nixxes Software and Sony reveal new details on the upcoming remaster, which is set to release for PS5 and PC later this month.
The extensive new motion capture data was directed and captured by Guerrilla at its Amsterdam studio.
Studio director Jan-Bart van Beek touts a Quality Mode that "matches or surpasses" that on PS5 while running at 60 frames per second.
Players also get classic Horizon outfits like Banuk Armor and Shadow Stalwart, a metal version of Aloy, and a roller coaster.
As suggested by a premature PlayStation Store listing in August, Sony's upcoming LEGOfied Horizon retelling will be releasing this November.
Handled by Nixxes Software, the remaster will tout DualSense and 3D audio support, visual enhancements, new cameras and animations during conversations, and more.
Though since pulled, Sony could be preparing to announce a definite release date for Studio Gobo's action-adventure title.
"We have definitely bent the rules a lot. But the characters remain core to who they are," says James Windeler, narrative director at Guerrilla.
The action-adventure title is due out for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Holiday, though a release date hasn't yet been announced.
