Horizon: Zero Dawn Won’t Have An FoV Slider On PC

Guerrilla feels that will mess with the original game's "experience and visual style too much."

Games like Horizon: Zero Dawn make people wish that there was no such thing as console exclusives- even on a PS4, it looks absolutely beautiful, and is probably one of the most technically impressive games in recent memory. How good, then, would it look if it were taking full advantage of high-end PC hardware to flaunt its graphical fidelity, especially with all the options that PC provides on a technical level?

Soon, that will no longer be a hypothetical question, with the open word title due out for PC later this year, and Guerrilla have already started taking some promising steps, having recently confirmed ultra-wide support for the game. However, it seems there will be some key features that’ll be missing.

Taking recently to Steam forums, Guerilla Games’ Community Manager Anne van der Zanden recently confirmed that Horizon: Zero Dawn will not have a field of view slider on PC, which should come as a big disappointment to most PC players. According to her, Guerrilla Games feel that’s something that might mess with the original game’s visual style too much, though she didn’t elaborate why that’s the case.

“We will add several ways to customize your settings for Horizon: Zero Dawn for PC, she wrote. “However, we feel that changing the FOV compromises the original Horizon: Zero Dawn experience and visual style too much, so you will not be able to change this.”

Horizon: Zero Dawn is currently available on PS4, and will be out on PC this Summer.
