“I Absolutely Know How Much Banjo-Kazooie Means to Our Fans,” Xbox Exec Says

Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg has reassured fans that the company is well aware of their love for the Banjo IP, contrary to some recent reports.

It’s been over a decade and a half since we last got a Banjo-Kazooie games, but fans of the platforming franchise have kept up hope that they will once again get to play as the bear and bird duo. Some recent reports suggested that Xbox’s vice president of games marketing Aaron Greenberg had dismissed Banjo-Kazooie as an IP at a recent event and stated that “nobody cares” about it, though the executive has now clarified his comments.

Taking to Twitter, Greenberg suggested that his aforementioned statements had been sarcastic and were misinterpreted, before adding, “I absolutely know how much Banjo-Kazooie means to our fans and gamers everywhere.”

Of course, whether or not we’ll see a new Banjo game anytime soon is the question that will still be on many minds. Though there have been some reports that have suggested that a reboot is in development after having been greenlit couple of years ago, others have claimed that no new Banjo title is being worked on right now

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has certainly made it clear in the past that the company is very aware of fan requests for revival, though previously, he has also said that whether or not the Banjo IP returns is going to be up to Rare, the studio in charge of it.
