Ubisoft’s Immortals Fenyx Rising launched in November 2020 and despite not being a massive success, it still garnered a decent amount of critical praise. Tom Henderson reported on Xfire that a sequel was greenlit by Ubisoft and is currently in pre-production. Though the publisher hasn’t outright confirmed the sequel, LinkedIn profile for Ubisoft Quebec producer Andrée-Anne Boisvert could further hint at its development.
As spotted by Faizan Shaikh on Twitter, Boisvert has been working on an unannounced title since April 2021. Previous works include being associate producer and then producer for Immortals Fenyx Rising along with leading its post-launch initiative. Boisvert also worked as co-development associate producer on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and as associate producer for its post-launch content.
While this still isn’t outright confirmation, it does provide some evidence that Ubisoft Quebec will be returning to develop the sequel. Associate director Julien Galloudec spoke last year about expanding the in-game universe with the hope that “it can be something bigger and it can become franchise.” If the sequel is slated to release in 2023, then an announcement this year wouldn’t be too odd (even if Ubisoft has several other titles to reveal). Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
