Infinity Ward hiring for “next-gen” Call of Duty game

Infinity Ward may have doled out Modern Warfare 3 just a few months back, but they’re already hard at work on a new Call of Duty game, the tenth installment of the series (the ninth one releases this year) which will come out 2013 (going by tradition). What’s more, it’s supposedly a “next-gen” Call of Duty game.

Infinity Ward has posted a job listing, looking for someone to fill the vacancy of the post of Senior Animator on the team to work on CoD 10/ Modern Warfare 4. Infinity Ward is “seeking a Senior Animator, preferably with experience in game development and an interest in working with next-generation technologies,” says the ad.

I think it’s pretty clear that the next Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer Call of Duty, possibly another Modern Warfare game (thought hopefully something new), will be coming out on next generation systems. The PS4 and Xbox 720 have been a lot in the rumours lately too, but we already know they’re both not being announced at E3 this year, so we don’t really know what to believe anymore. *cue dramatic music*

This year’s Call of Duty is being developed by Treyarch, developers of 2010’s Black Ops. It’s code-named Iron Wolf right now, but we have a feeling (like everyone else who’s been following the game) that it’ll be Black Ops 2.

Stay tuned to GamingBolt, we’ll keep you updated on this. Till then, leave your feedback below.
