No Playstation 4 at E3 2012 – Kaz Hirai

Posted By | On 11th, Jan. 2012

Kazuo Hirai, SCE chairman, pulled the plug on most of the PS4 rumours and has bluntly said that there will be no PS4 reveal at E3 this year. He echoed Andrew House, who is the president and CEO of SCE.

“Andy House is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3,” he revealed.

“I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that.”

It makes sense considering Sony’s financial position this gen, and PS3 is just reaching the mass market price point, it would be pointless for Sony to reveal it this year. But who knows what will happen, considering this industry is predictable.
