Fans of Microsoft’s beloved fighting series Killer Instinct have been craving a new entry for quite some time, but though it’s been a while since we last saw activity on that front, recent developments have suggested that all hope might not be lost. Shortly after Xbox boss Phil Spencer suggested that Killer Instinct could come back one day, leaks claimed that a new game in the series was in active development.
What wasn’t leaked, however, was who exactly is working on the game- though we might have a clearer idea of that. In an article recently published on Windows Central, journalist Jez Corden that he has heard “the vaguest of unsubstantiated rumors” that Bandai Namco might be involved in a new Killer Instinct game’s development.
As vague and unsubstantiated as that rumour might be, Bandai Namco would be a solid choice for the game, given their expertise with the genre, with the likes of Soulcalibur, Tekken, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate under their belt. Again though, this is the kind of rumour that you take with a healthy grain of salt, so be sure to do that.
We’ll keep an eye out for more details though, so stay tuned for any and all updates.
