Lara Croft Could be Headed to Fortnite

Raiding tombs and building stuff.

Fortnite has become a nexus for crossovers of major media properties of late, most notably with widely beloved gaming icons like Kratos from God of War and the Master Chief from Halo having found their way into the free to play battle royale shooter in recent weeks. We’ve all been wondering who’ll be next in line, and we may now have a bit of a clue about that- Lara Croft, from Tomb Raider.

Over on Twitter, Fortnite dataminer @Mang0e_ recently uncovered a new crossover skin supposedly codenamed “Typhoon” that will be coming to Fortnite soon. According to the mined data, the skin will be for a female character, have reactive styles, and will have a portal with a custom “flicker” effect.

That by itself doesn’t necessarily have to mean that Lara Croft is coming to Fortnite (especially with another female character, Metroid’s Samus Aran having been the subject of similar speculation of late), but there’s other (possible) evidence pointing to that. Recently, the official Tomb Raider Twitter account sent out a tweet with emojis showing a pickaxe, a running woman, and a bow and arrow. The dots here are easy to connect, even though it may very well be a coincidence.

Either way, we should fine out soon enough, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
