Following the teaser for Mafia: Trilogy, listings for Mafia: Definitive Edition and Mafia 2: Definitive Edition have emerged on the Microsoft Store. The latter is billed as releasing on May 19th, the same day as the announcement trailer for the trilogy, and will support 4K and HDR10. It will also have all of the DLC packaged with the base game.
As for Mafia: Definitive Edition, it seems to be releasing on August 28th. Both versions are handled by Hangar 13, the developer behind Mafia 3, and appear to have received some serious makeovers. Check out the screenshots below which highlight improvements to lighting, texture work, character models and much more.
It’s possible that Mafia: Trilogy will be available to purchase on May 19th and provide instant access to Mafia 2: Definitive Edition. Subsequent releases like Mafia: Definitive Edition will become playable as they release. This strategy is similar to the Yakuza Remastered Collection on PS4 which granted access to the Yakuza 3 Remastered immediately and for Yakuza 4 and 5 Remastered when they eventually launched.
Mafia: Trilogy will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
