Marathon’s Server Slam is underway, and Bungie has received no shortage of feedback (or complaints). On its first day, it acknowledged reports of mouse input lag, in-game voice chat not working during runs, the infrequency of PvP, and even UI complaints.
The latest feedback recap confirms that it will iterate on the UI post-launch (with timelines on that to come later). Bungie is also investigating low GPU and CPU utilisation, stuttering issues and more. However, when it comes to things like PvP frequency, outside of “further investigating total player density on non-beginner maps to cover all of our bases,” there wasn’t much to offer.
The same applies to heat generation, movement and character momentum. It’s also looking into feedback regarding Meds and Ammo, from “stack sizes” to “the efficacy of green-tier med items and more opportunities for ammo to drop have been primary topics.” This follows complaints from players about the apparent lack of ammo.
How many of these issues will be resolved in time for launch remains to be seen. After all, the Server Slam ends on March 2nd, and Marathon is available on March 5th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Thus far, it’s confirmed that two more maps, Outpost and Cryo Archive, will be available when Season 1 begins. You can also expect Ranked Mode and full progression trees and Contracts for all the Factions.
