Marvel Rivals Crosses 644,000 Players on Steam After Season 1’s Launch

NetEase's successful hero shooter has reached a new player milestone, exceeding its previous best by nearly 200,000 players.

NetEase Games’ first season for the hero shooter Marvel Rivals recently went live, adding Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman as new heroes alongside a new Convoy map and Celestial rank. While player numbers have been solid since its launch, Season 1’s launch propelled it to new heights on Steam.

According to SteamDB, it reached new lifetime concurrent peak of 644,269 players, up from 445,169 players one day prior. It’s worth noting that after releasing on December 10th, 2024, the player count has never dipped below 300,000 on Steam. Considering it amassed over 20 million players in less than a month, it’s likely also performing well on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Season 1: Eternal Night Falls will last three months. During its second half, The Human Torch and The Thing will be added as new heroes. Stay tuned for more details on their abilities and roles. For more information on Marvel Rivals, check out our review.
