As a Duelist, Spider-Man closes in on opponents and pulls them close for combos. He's playable in the closed beta on July 23rd.
"We've heard that the audience has already suggested this several times, so we're looking into it," says game director Thad Sasser.
The upcoming 6v6 hero shooter, which was recently also announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, is getting a closed beta next month.
NetEase Games has also unveiled two new playable characters for the multiplayer game in the form of Venom and Adam Warlock.
According to the Marvel Rivals closed alpha contract, players weren't allowed to criticise the game or even make satirical content based on it.
The datamine indicates that there are a lot more playable characters in Marvel Rivals than the closed alpha announcement revealed.
