After teasing his presence in some recent Moon Knight gameplay, NetEase Games has confirmed Hawkeye as a playable hero in Marvel Rivals. Sporting a face mask, this is perhaps the sleekest design of the character we’ve seen in video games. Check out some of his skills below.
As a Duelist, Hawkeye excels at mid-range engagements, charging shots and dealing extensive damage on headshots. Though he can also unleash a spread of explosive shots up close, the real danger is his katana (a nice little nod to Ronin). It can deflect bullets at range and knock back foes, sometimes off the map.
Hawkeye seems like a combination of Genji and Hanzo from Overwatch (who used to be one character during early design stages, funnily enough). However, his Ultimate is unique, creating what seem to be afterimages of opposing heroes to shoot. The effects of this are still unclear, so stay tuned for more details.
Marvel Rivals launches on December 6th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will offer 33 Heroes and eight maps at launch. With Hawkeye’s reveal, five more remain to be revealed. Check out more details on post-launch plans, including seasons.
