Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Scarlet Witch Gameplay Video Showcases Her Chaos Magic Abilities

The Chaos magic queen is all about positioning, and can buff her allies, cause enemies to fight each other, and deal massive AoE damage.

The hero breakdowns for Marvel’s Midnight Suns continue, even as the tactical RPG has been delayed to later in the fiscal year 2023. Following her recent Hero Spotlight trailer, Scarlet Witch has received an extensive gameplay showcase. Check it out below with ChristopherOdd detailing her various cards and abilities.

Scarlet Witch is a hero that relies on positioning the most and needs more planning than other heroes. She can deal damage, control enemies and provide support, working well with heroes that deal high single-target damage. “Chaos Field” lasts for two turns and sees allies nearby gaining one Resist at the end of a turn. It costs no Heroism while generating an above-average amount and can be upgraded to heal nearby squad-mates. A mod in late-game also adds Counter on redraw.

“Chaos Reigns” turns enemies against each other. On upgrading, the controlled enemies have a 50 percent chance to attack twice. A late-game mod grants health on redraw. “No More” is a Heroic card which consumes all of her health to deal the same amount of damage to all enemies nearby. It can be used once, so you’ll want to choose the best spot with the most Hydra to take out. When upgraded, you draw a card for each enemy knocked out. A late-game mod allows for redrawing it and curing Wanda in the process.

Her passive, “Wrong Place, Wrong Time”, is also incredibly potent. It has a chance to debuff a random enemy near Scarlet Witch every turn. When upgraded, this can debuff all enemies near her with a negative status effect.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns releases first for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC with the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions coming later. With Scarlet Witch’s abilities wrapped up, there are six heroes left to detail. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
