Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Insomniac Working Hard to Develop “the Best Game We’ve Ever Made”

Narrative director Jon Paquette couldn't say much about the sequel but is excited and "can't wait to share it with ya'll."

There was a lot of hype for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 after its announcement in September 2021, but there hasn’t been any gameplay footage or details revealed. Insomniac Games recently asked fans for a “little bit more patience,” while Sony assured that the sequel would launch this fiscal year.

In the developer’s last Twitch stream, narrative director Jon Paquette spoke about his excitement for the sequel. While he didn’t offer much new details, he did say the team is working to ensure “this is the best game we’ve ever made.”

“Boy, am I excited about Spider-Man 2. There’s obviously not much I can say, but boy, are we really workin’ hard to try and make sure that this is the best game we’ve ever made, and we can’t wait to share it with y’all.”

Insomniac working hard seems a given – game development is anything but easy. And while it’s still unknown exactly when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is being showcased, rumors abound about an upcoming PlayStation Showcase. It’s reportedly coming in the week of May 25th and could feature the sequel. Other titles rumored to appear include Konami’s apparent remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, so that should be fun.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases this Fall for PS5, with Venom voice actor Tony Todd claiming it’s out in September. Stay tuned for updates and learn more about the prequel comic here.
