Rumours regarding a PlayStation Showcase event have been emerging with greater frequency of late, with journalist Jeff Grubb recently having claimed that the event is set for sometime in May. He has now provided an update on that with a narrower window for its timing.
Taking to Twitter, Grubb recently said that as things stand right now, the PlayStation Showcase is currently scheduled for the week of May 25, with a specific date within that period seemingly not nailed down yet. In a follow-up tweet, he added the showcase would likely happen earlier in that week, and that May 25 is “probably the latest that week” that it will happen.
Previously, Grubb said that the upcoming PlayStation Showcase would be a “massive” event that will “set up the second phase of the PlayStation 5”. Interestingly, leaks have also started emerging about what could be announced at the event, with a recent report having claimed that the long-rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will be unveiled at the showcase as a PS5 exclusive.
It’s expected that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is due out this Fall, will also be present at the event, while Naughty Dog has previously stated that it would be sharing more details on its standalone The Last of Us multiplayer title sometime this year.

I said "week of May 25" because that's probably the latest that week it could happen. But it could happen earlier. I just don't want to say week of May 21 and then people get mad when it doesn't happen on a Sunday.
