Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is “Making Good Progress,” Still Scheduled for 2023

Insomniac Games assures fans that the sequel is still coming next year. "Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination."

Following the successful release of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, Insomniac Games (along with Nixxes) will launch Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the platform on November 18th. In the longer term though, it has some pretty heavy hitters coming up, like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.

There may be some concern over the former possibly being delayed (at least on Twitter). However, the developer’s official account told fans not to worry. “We’re making good progress, and it’s still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.”

It could appear at Sony’s next big PlayStation Showcase, though a date for the same has yet to be announced. Perhaps a quick trailer at The Game Awards on December 8th? Last month, insider Millie Amand teased a gameplay reveal “soon,” but there’s been nothing yet.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release exclusively for PS5. Along with Peter Parker and Miles Morales, it also features Venom, though whether he’s an antagonist or playable character is unknown. Venom actor Tony Todd claims the game is “massive,” but Insomniac hasn’t said much about the scale or tone (other than it being “darker” than its predecessors). Stay tuned in the coming months for more details.
